Military Sexual Trauma Recovery Program for Male Service Members and Veterans

Military Sexual Trauma Recovery Program for Male Service Members and Veterans

About Our Sexual Trauma Recovery Program

Our program is a 30-day inpatient Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) treatment program, specializing in Military Sexual Trauma (MST). We have separate male and female units, and patients must be either active duty service members (including guard and reserve) or veterans. Our dedicated program staff tailors individualized treatment plans around each patient’s unique mental health needs.

Men’s MST Treatment Program for Active Duty

The majority of the patients in our male-only military sexual trauma program are active-duty service members. Our program requires a referral from a military treatment facility (MTF) or VA, so the mental health clinic at a military installation or unit. If you have questions about requesting a referral from your installation, or if you are a provider and have questions about submitting or authorizing a referral, just give us a call at 801-850-1982.

Men’s MST Treatment Program for Guard and Reserve

Members of the National Guard and Reserve are eligible for our MST program as well. Our program requires a referral from the mental health clinic at a military installation or unit, and in the case of National Guard and Reserve, the service member must be put on active-duty orders in order to receive treatment. This is usually facilitated as part of the treatment referral process. If you have questions about requesting a referral from your unit or mental health provider, give us a call at 801-850-1982.

Men’s MST Treatment Program for Veterans

We also accept veterans into our military sexual trauma (MST) recovery program for men. Our program requires a referral from a VA. If you have questions about requesting a referral from your local VA, or if you are a provider and have questions about submitting or authorizing a referral, just give us a call at 801-850-1982.

Men’s MST Program Features

Our unique men’s military sexual trauma program features a wide range of therapy and treatment modalities, ranging from individual therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), to recreation therapy, moral repair groups with a chaplain, expressive therapy, yoga, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and pet therapy.

Program Eligibility

Male veterans and service members who have experienced a military sexual trauma (MST) are eligible for the program. This includes active-duty service members of all branches, National Guard, Reserve and veterans. We also accept service members who have other sexual traumas on a case-by-case basis.

Admissions

The admissions process is designed to be simple and fast for those needing immediate services, and usually there is no wait list for our program. The referring provider can complete a referral in four simple steps by doing the following:

  • Call our military liaison at 801-850-1982 to establish an arrival date for the member and reserve a bed
  • Submit a referral to TRICARE®
  • Coordinate travel for the member, or provide unit contact information for the liaison to coordinate travel

Referring mental health providers will be provided weekly treatment updates from the care coordination team with progress in treatment, medications and assignments completed.
